Why "Updating" is Better Than "New"

In 2026, "Freshness" is a ranking factor.

Why

You probably have a blog archive sitting there gathering dust. That is the goldmine.

In 2026, "Freshness" is a ranking factor.

The Strategy:
Don't write a new post. Take a post from 2023, update the stats, add a new "2026" section, and republish it.

  • It already has authority.

  • It already has links.

  • You are just telling Google, "Hey, this is still relevant."

Rich’s Corner:

I spent last weekend updating my own posts from 2016-24. It took half the time of writing new ones, and I saw a nice traffic bump in 48 hours.

Work smarter, not harder.
