The Death of the "Generic" Blog Post

RIP 2000 Words

I am wrapping up our "Mastering the Machine" month with a hard truth: If you can't write it better than a robot, don't write it at all.

The internet does not need another 500-word article on "Why Marketing is Important."

The AI has read 10 million of those. It knows.

What to Write Instead:

  • Case Studies:
"How We Solved X for Client Y."

  • Contrarian Takes:
"Why Everyone is Wrong About X."

  • Local Guides:
"The Best X in Your Neighbourhood, City, Province/State ." (AI is terrible at hyper-local nuance).

Rich’s Corner:

My rule of thumb for 2026: Before you publish, ask yourself, "Could ChatGPT have written this?"

If the answer is yes, hit delete.

Or better yet, hit "Edit" and add a story that only you know.
